Dear younger me,
I wish I could sit across from you right now — in whatever season you’re in — and tell you what I know. Not to spare you the pain you will inevitably experience. That pain was necessary. But to tell you that you make it through. All of it. And who you become on the other side is someone worth every hard thing you carried to get there.
You spent a lot of time doubting yourself. Never believing you were worthy of being seen, heard, or loved in the way you needed. You held so much of what you felt deep inside — afraid of rejection, afraid of being misunderstood. You let very few people in, and because of that, many never got to experience the magic that you carry.
You used words and your imagination to create worlds to escape to — places where you felt most alive. Most seen. Writing was your safe space. The place you could go to learn about yourself, to grow, to work toward your becoming. You will lose this space for a long while. You will drift without direction. You will make many mistakes and experience heartache and hardship. But it is through all of it that you will find your way back — back to writing, back to your words, back to your magic.
There will come a moment when you are asked to share your most inner self with the world. To share your words. You will push back. You will revert to that old familiar story — that you are not worthy of being heard. But here is what I want you to know: you have worked hard to build a beautiful circle of people who believe in you. They see your worth. And they will not let you fall back into your old self-beliefs.
You will take a leap of faith — with encouragement, with love, with support — and do something you have always dreamed of. You will publish your first book. You will share your words with the world. You will let them see all the sides of you — your vulnerability, your resounding voice, your authenticity.
You have become a woman who knows she is worthy. You are becoming the woman you have always been in your words. You will be immensely proud of yourself.
