I am currently working on a poetry project where each piece reflects the mood of its corresponding Full Moon. My goal is to write within every lunar cycle, and by the end of the year, to have written under all thirteen Full Moons. At the close of each cycle, I aim to share a reflection on the lessons learned and the truths that surfaced along the way.
The Wolf Moon is a threshold moon— not the beginning, and not the end. It is a time to pause and to witness:
- what realizations landed quietly but firmly
- what patterns became clear for the first time
- what ended internally, even if nothing changed outwardly
Reflecting on my own journey through this cycle, the clearest lesson for me was remembering my why.
I have worked hard to change habits that were no longer serving me or supporting my growth. Part of that work has been remembering my worth— and standing firm in what I will and will not accept from others. I have never been a doormat, but I have often made myself smaller for the sake of comfort— to avoid conflict, to keep others from feeling uneasy, or simply to not be seen as difficult.
Over the past few weeks, I encountered moments that challenged me. Moments where I caught myself — or where others, in misunderstanding my goals, helped reveal — how easily I could slip back into old patterns. More than once, I found myself apologizing simply for having feelings.
Let that sink in.
Here I stood on a threshold between who I was and who I am becoming. And what a profoundly beautiful thing it is to witness your own growth— not as an achievement, but as a truth you can no longer unsee.
